I'm still holding out hope for a complete & chronological The Black Hole on disc, along with whatever can be assembled for Firefox. Oh, and a The Last Starfighter that won't cost a small fortune.

Spies Like Us isn't a grail but perhaps there'll be a release someday with the McCartney song on it. On the other hand, what would the cost of that additional track be?

EDIT: Wouldn't you know it, there's apparently a Silva version of Firefox held up by unknown snags. Well, hope springs eternal.

Hardcore - Jack Nitzsche

The 1978 Paul Schrader film starring George C. Scott as a Michigan father searching for his runaway daughter in seedy Los Angeles.

This would be a longtime dream come true... I've actually had dreams of a score recording for this film. An Intrada disc with this film art on the cover would be about it for me.

The scene when George C. Scott, masquerading as a sleazy porno producer, interviews black porn star "Big Dick Blaque", played by Hal Williams (Officer Smitty from Sanford And Son) is possibly the most bizarre example of comic relief in a film that I've ever seen.

The film is brutal, the score is intense and even a bit wicked. Slide guitarist Ry Cooder performs.

The original tracks to GREEN DOLPHIN STREET. They no longer exist? OK then, how about a re-recording of Kaper's FINEST score.
I'll never understand how On Green Dolphin Street became such a big jazz favorite, when the original score was anything but.....it's time this masterpiece was restored in its original splendor !

My Top 10 Grails are in my signature below. I really hope to be able to cross at least one off the list this year.

Okay, I'll join in this one:

1. Star Trek: The Motion Picture - Jerry Goldsmith (released ala Alien, and would be a great companion piece to that release)
2. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country - Cliff Eidelman
3. D.A.R.Y.L. - Marvin Hamlisch
4. The Mummy - Jerry Goldsmith
5. Cocoon - James Horner

Most of these have been released, but I'd love to see them released C & C.

D.A.R.Y.L. is one of those that have never had an official release, which is a real shame. "Somewhere I Belong" is a beautiful song, and it's use in the score is great. If possible, I think Intrada would do this one justice.

Actually, I think you guys with the Intrada Hamsters could do any/all of these justice.

What follows is the list of CDrs I have in my collection...mostly OOPs, official promos, and boots (all of which that have an OST to, I have the actual OST to, before some ass starts frothing at the mouth!). Not all would be "grails", but I'd love to have a real CD for each and every item on the list, with top priority highlighted:
