Intrada Soundtrack Forum

To be honest, I can't think of a whole lot of scores off the top of my head that I consider "holy grails", because most of them have already been released in expanded or complete form. However, that doesn't mean there isn't a single score I'd like to see released in complete form someday, and that one is;

Balto - James Horner I know, I've already brought this one up in my very first journal in the Suggestion Box a couple years ago. I can't help it, this is just one of my favorite scores by Horner and the one I hold nearest to my heart ever since I first saw the movie back in 1995. Even though I already own the first soundtrack release, there are a few missing cues and an alternate of the finale that is missing from it. For me, this is probably my most wanted grail, and the only one I really do have a lot of hope for in the future.

However, I do have hope that one day, other scores that people hold dearest to their hearts will be released in the near future. So, to everyone at Intrada, LLL, Varese, FSM, etc. and to all the people who love what these and other soundtrack labels release for them, have a safe and very merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. ^^

I really like Balto as well. It contains some of Horner's most powerful writing, with performances to match.

It's an Amblin/Universal production if I remember correctly, with the long out of print album released by MCA. All of that coupled with it being a Horner score makes it seem right up Intrada's alley.

A new CD for Balto would be great if only to improve the somewhat low key sound. Even for 1993 it's somewhat on the quiet side.

Balto would be cool! Or howabout a boxset of the amblin james horner animated movies ???? Imagine expanded versions of An Ameican tail 1&2, Land before time, Were back and Balto!!!! I would buy that in a heartbeat! What a joyous box of loveliness that would be!

Not really much in the way of grails left to release after these last few years of riches. However the following have a place set aside for them in my collection. There are a few reissues I'd like to see after missing the original releases and they go for crazy money these days, especially to guarantee an original and not a CDR.
