A good sampler that's still relatively easy to find on Amazon (used, though) is Charles Gerhardt's Franz Waxman edition of the RCA Classic Film Scores series- "Bride of Frankenstein" cue, "Creation of the Female Monster", and his suite from his Oscar winning score "Place in the Sun" are highly recommended |

I feel that one score of Waxman's that was overlooked is "Sunset Boulevard" which is included of course on the Gerhardt compilation that was mentioned but there is a Varese rerecording #302 066 316 2 that has Joel McNeely conducting the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. It includes the music from the deleted corpse scene. I have always found this film and music to quite fascinating. Wilder and Waxman both received Oscars for it. Tom
