I'm partial to the scores for which John Williams wrote for lackluster films. HEARTBEEPS THE EIGER SANCTION EARTHQUAKE SPACECAMP There's nothing quite like a mediocre film accompanied by an outstanding underscore to discuss. ![]() |

Just reading through this, I was wondering whether anyone else would suggest HEARTBEEPS. That end credits piece is a sheer joy. |

I also enjoy this score very much. I'm always surprised that no one knows it (except here), and that the 3000 copies limited edition by Varèse Sarabande is not out of print yet... It has been online for something like 5 years... ![]() [cd] THE RARE BREED (John Williams) An other understated score that is simply brillant ! What a western score it is for such an early work (1966) ! |

Favorite THEME: You know, I think I'll agree with Doug on this and choose the main theme from JFK. It's not really my favorite though. One of my top ten. How the hell am I supposed to choose a favorite John Williams theme, dammit? Favorite SCORE: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade...the Grail theme is another contender for favorite theme and overall I think this is the best Williams album (and best Indiana Jones score...though that's certainly a hard call). Favorite MOMENT: I'm gonna go with Cadillac of the Skies. I'm not crazy about the score or film as a whole (though they're not bad), but I gotta say that moment in both is amazing! This is of course another insanely hard call with all the moments in Star Wars and E.T. and heck, I could have done Last Crusade as an answer for all three! The Penitent Man Shall Pass. Yavar |
