I was referring to the animated Robin Hood. It's one of the few remaining of their animated stuff that hasn't had a full song/score release rather than one of those storybook releases.

You consider the cost of the license and pressing a number of CDs versus how many you might expect to sell. If it makes sense, you do it. Also, if I recall correctly, once the initial reuse fees have been paid, all you have to pay for is the licensing fee. Unless you want to release additional music than you have to pay re-use for the additional music. In any event, it is probably cheaper for Prometheus to re-issue a release than it was for Varese or Intrada or Milan to initially release it.

I also think that Prometheus is factoring in collectors who already have the original issues buying because they are “expandedâ€

I figured I would resurrect this thread regarding Holy Grails.

These are a few that I hope will be released or re-issued expanded on CD.

I consider "holy grails" unavailable or unreleased scores one covets far above any other score, so that excludes in my opinion having many "holy grails" (in fact, actually, a "holy grail" should be just one, but we're not too legalistic here, are we.)

Most of my grails have definitely been released over the years. Scores that once were "holy grails" for me:

Jerry Fielding: LAWMAN
James Horner: WOLFEN
Stanley Myers: THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES

A score I'd consider somewhat of a grail since I have fond memories watching the movie and noticing the music many, many moons ago is Maurice Jarre's score for 5 CARD STUD. I can even sing along that title song since teenage days, yet alas... no soundtrack release.

One of our dinosaurs is missing by Ron Goodwin will always be my number one holy grail (Return to Oz was another one but that got a release!) .. hopefully it will appear one day in the not too distant future !

I have 4 Holy Grails :

THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH [1976]
THE SHINING [1980]

I hope there is a glimmer of a chance that maybe one of these days Intrada could release one or even all of these elusive, highly sought-after soundtracks from cult movies on CD.
