Carter Burwell's True Grit, I know it's based on a Hymn tune, but it's the most memorable theme I've heard in the cinema for years. I can't stop humming it or listening to it. It's a rarity, a score that works well in the film and is a pleasure to listen to. |

Robert Rodriguez's theme for Planet Terror. This theme is brilliant in that it works very nicely with a wide assortment of variations. |

Certainly Michael's thematic score to UP stands out for me. It's one of the best scores of recent memory--very melodic. |

I think we lost the object of this topic in the first place along the way... The purpose was to speak about memorable themes for the common audience, not for us. And for that matter I would say : Avatar. |
