For those clumsy, or without access to precision cutlery, another good method is to undo the bottom hinge on the jewel box, and then open the box by lifting the entire front upward, garage-door fashion. Then you can just pull the two parts of the jewel box apart and remove what's left of the sticker. If the glue has aged and leaves a residue, I endorse the use of GooGone (after you've removed the booklet and tray label, of course). Try to use the orange gel version of the stuff, since it's easier to control. And make sure you follow the directions: GooGone isn't like Windex, and you don't just spray it and start wiping. You have to let it sit for several minutes as it starts to dissolve the adhesive. A non-abrasive scrub pad will do the rest. (And I hated those tall boxes. Ugh!) |
