Fun Fact: In the episode of the radio show SUSPENSE (link below), Orson Welles prefaces the drama with a speech about the series and is backed up (briefly) by Bernard Herrmann's orchestra playing...."Funeral March for a Marionette" by Gounod.

This episode, by the way, is very famous so it is definitely worth hearing in its entirety. It was written by Lucille Fletcher (and I'll bet there's a few of you who know who she is).
*My understanding is that Hitchcock didn't start using this until his TV show in the 50's.
