I, too, have had the pleasant occasion to meet Mr. Scott. I used to run into him in the soon-to-be-gone Aron's Records in Hollywood, CA. One always imagine that such charming British gentlemen live in thatched-roof cottages in the Cotswolds, but Scott divides his time between homes in Southern California and France. Though he's never gotten the biggest of film-scoring assignments, it's obvious that he has made a nice living for himself, nevertheless.

We're also all the beneficiaries of his willingness and desire to preserve a record of the scores whose original tracks were, or are, too expensive to bring to disc. Thus JOS Records, which has consumed a significant proportion of John's income. We wouldn't have the wonderful CD's of ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA and THE FINAL COUNTDOWN without that commitment.

It's a pleasant score with a slightly nutty aftertaste, is what restaurant review called it.
And it does put you in a good mood after a listen.

Speaking of the Eloise movies, is there a chance of one or the other or both getting the Intrada treatment (what with Broughton winning Emmys for both of them and all)?
