With all of the talk about scores that we'll never see released (because of lost elements, right issues, etc.) I've been really curious to ask the following question. What kind of process occurs to acquire rights and/or access to elements to secure a soundtrack release? ie: bidding to the studio, composers, cover art design approvals, Q.C., etc. etc.??? I understand there are probably lots of trade and/or marketing secrets that you guys can't divulge which is fine but I'm just curious about what it takes to get one of these fantastic scores out to us, the salivating, eager, watchful collecting few! LOL... I know, I know it's a HUGE topic! A totally watered-down reader's digest version will suffice. I'm just curious about some of the highlights of what I realize is an insanely massive endeavor. |
