I was going through an old composition notebook of mine from 7th grade (which feels like a million years ago), when I discovered a short composition I wrote about a dream I had. Forget about the dream I had the night before about finding the girl of my dreams only to wake up to realize it was all imaginery and terrible heartache that follows. This was about finding that elusive soundtrack...only to wake up and find out that it was all dream.

Bear in mind this is written by a seventh grader back in 1981:

Disappointments

Don't you hate it when the think you've been longing for the most, you finally get and you are just about to enjoy it when BZZZZZZ, the alarm goes off. You sit up in bed, look around, think about it, then you say, "Why did I have to wake up?" and go back to sleep.

This is a problem that has happened to me an awful lot.

There is a record I really wanted a lot, CASINO ROAYLE, but it's out of print. In otherwords, I won't be able to get it, not easily though.

In my dream I find it! Lying on the floor of my mother's sewing room.

Boy was I excited, I was just going to pay it when I woke up.

I hate when this happens and I wish that I could make it real too, but it turns out to be a big disappointment.

I hope I don't have many more. Who knows, one of these days they might come true.

I did find a copy two years later. Perfect condition cover, but the pressing sounded like someone was frying bacon throughout. Coincidentally I just picked up the HDAD version of the CD of this score. I haven't played it yet to compare to the Varese. So I'm still acquiring CASINO ROYALES after all these years. And it's not *that* great of a score.
