L.A Soundtrack stores

Hi everyone,

I'm traveling to L.A. tomorrow for the week and was wondering if there are any soundtrack specialty stores in the L.A. area like Footlight was in NYC. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks much!

Amoeba can be quite good for obscure promos and things, but they're not cheap.

I thought Amoeba was in the bay area.

There are several, I believe. The Hollywood store's classical sectionn is awe-inspiring!

Ditto the remarks about finding promos and rare stuff at Amoeba. I picked up that six-disc FranÃ§ois Truffaut set that Milan put out years and years ago for $18.

Amoeba's reasonable. $14.99 for most Varese regular releases.

Their used stuff is sometimes quite a deal.

I picked up a copy of Yared's Cold Mountain (Oscar promo) there the last time I was in LA.

I narrowly missed out on the Criterion laserdisc of Close Encounters of the Third Kind and spent the rest of the day kicking myself for not grabbing it as soon as I saw it. :cry:
