2005 was so full of excellent releases of older scores, in fact there's been so many of them that I even didn't get to buy any 2005 score, not even the one which I liked most, Dario Marianelli's Brothers Grimm. |

@ Tom The release of Two Mules of Sister Sara/Days of Heaven is older. It was released several years ago. To my knowledge this CD isn´t really legal and was mastered from LPs. |

The 3 2005 titles History will remember (or is it juste me ? ) : Star Wars III :Williams strikes back for the last time with an epic, outstanding, already legendary piece of art. CD presentation of the score is weak though, as always (except for the 2 CDs editions of episodes I, IV, V, and VI). The Legend of Zorro : Horner still knows how to compose the most rousing swashbuckling music you would ever dream of, and does it with his incredible sense of harmony, musical structure and his so so refined sensibility. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory : Elfman does what he's best at, a weird fantasy tale with wonderful tunes. From his chocolate heaven, Roald Dahl must be so proud of this musical achievement. |
