It's competitive so communications are often muted. Sometimes you just have to play your cards close to the chest in order to make certain things happen. However, maintaining civility with fellow labels at the table is always a good credo. I really admire the folks at Varese and FSM and Tadlow a lot. As far as fellow retailers are concerned, I can't say enough good things about SAE and their superb service. But lest you think I like every one of our fellow competitors out there - I'll admit there's one label representative I can not stand nor will I give him the time of day. Beyond that, I think the competitive environment seems cordial and healthy. There's plenty of great music to go around. --Doug |

Gentleman that the honorable Mr. Fake is, he bites his tongue and does of course not reveal who that darned representative is, however much he despises him, while we out there in the field, surrounded and cornered in by all those labels who keep shooting their records at us, wonder and crack our brains... |
