A very nice (and certainly well-deserved) tribute to Mr. Morricone. May he ( for those of us who appreciate his scores) continue to add to an already tremendous body of work, for many years to come. -Rich |

I'm no longer surprised by anything the Academy does anymore. These are the same bottom-feeders who once decided to give technical awards to those still seated without even letting them come up on stage to accept the award like the actors were allowed to do and also yanked the microphone away from an effects person from LORD OF THE RINGS while he made his speech. Now they give a "special award" to a composer who has forgotten more about motion picture scoring than the composer of BABEL will ever know. The only real mystery about the Academy Awards is why I continue to watch it year after year. Every year I keep telling myself I am never going to watch it again and I must be a masochist because I always do. |
