Gads, what went wrong here? Look at this artwork. Look at what's supposed to be happening in this movie. Granted, I'm only halfway through this film, as I was curious about Frank Devol's score. I should say I've scanned halfway through this movie. I know today's action flicks are criticized for lacking in story and too much, well, action...but this movie has too much story...too much talking. Maybe the second half will get better. The Devol score seems okay so far...there's some pretty intense music during a underwater dive flashback. But sheesh...what a static film. |

Yes, this is quite upsetting. Getting a volcano's geographical setting wrong. I mean...HELLO??? One of the biggest and most deadly volcanic eruptions in recent history and those buffoons put it on the wrong spot. Although, Tambora in 1815/16, *the* biggest eruption in historic times was actually *East* of Java...

It's a pretty solid score - though you wouldn't know it from the LP release, which omitted all of the dramatic cues. As for the film - well, it's got Diane Baker in it, so it's not totally unbearable.
