I stumbled onto an interesting bit Billy Wilder said about Previn in the book "Conversations with Wilder", which I'm currently reading: "...or whether it was Mr. Previn, who has kind of washed his hands of ever having worked in Hollywood. He would have starved to death, but you know, he said in his memoirs or his interviews , he just said he was "seduced" by Hollywood. But that is past tense; he would not talk about that. [laughs] He was forced; they would have broken his bones if he hand not done the score to... I don't know how many pictures he did!" Thought i'd share. Matt |
