Roger! great thread! Well, not really, but quite useful for fans. I have to add my all time favorite score, represented on a sorely malnourished Varese cd - The Road Warrior by Brian May . Sure, the word is there is a boot out there that maybe 4 people have, and Ford T. tantalizingly surmised that there may be album backups somewhere, but the original sessions were reportedly erased, and the tapes reused - what the hell??? this sounds like something I used to have to do at age 10! I hoped that maybe someday Joel McNeely and Robert Townson might re-record, but who knows if that will happen. [/b] |

I think I suggested to you or Doug to do it, and was told "nah" in other words. ![]() Now we have a thread of my rejected idea. I started a page on it a few months back, on one of my sites, but have fogotten the link name and which site. |

As long as scores are "missing", well, there's always hope that they might show up some day. However, in case of "damaged beyond use" as Roger stated about Race With The Devil, that's pretty much it. What's the word on Goldsmith's Damnation Alley, anyway? Varese released some cues of it in their Goldsmith set, but through rumors I have heard that the synth parts are lost? Damaged? Anyone knows? |

It seems that nearly the complete Columbia catalogue from the Golden Age to the Silver Age is lost. Others: The Satan Bug (Jerry Goldsmith) Miss Marple series (Ron Goodwin) Some Came Running (Elmer Bernstein) piano parts are damaged Village and Children of the Damned (Ron Goodwin) |

What a depressing thread. *sigh* Not that I dispute the validity of the subject, but.... *sigh* Good thing there are so many attics in this country - who knows what's been squirrelled away in random places over the years? ![]() |
