I've received my BTTF CDs this morning and got a straight and careful listen to it.

The first CD offers a complete musical narration of the movie we all know by heart, but listening to all these cues in one listening experience as a whole is something really magical. The sequencing and mixing decisions, are, in my opinion, just perfect.
The jazzy cues (forshadowing the score to Who Framed Roger Rabbit coming 3 years later) add this 50's flavor to the whole album, which would have been missing without the songs.
It's amazing to see that the musical finale (from track 16 to 21) never stops in its energy. We've got suspenseful action with George To The Recue and then a happy resolution. But the Tension pursues and finds again a glorious resolution in The Kiss. But troubles only begins for Marty as he has to get back to the future in the 10 min never stopping suspense/action cue Clocktower. And just when you think it's over with the final clash, you realize that it's not over yet with the Lone Pine Mall cue with Marty trying to rescue Doc from his assassination. This whole finale is simply intense in its dramatic content and only Intrada's presentation of this amazing score could do justice to the incredible talent of Alan Silvestri for telling a story with such energy through his music.

Now the 2nd CD offers a completely new approach of the movie and its score. I sometimes felt like listening to a BTTF Part IV ! This CD is pure gold and I must admit I can't freely talk about it for now, after only one listen, because it's so new and overwhelming that I think I might need some time...

I'm beyond just saying thank you to all the people involved in this release, because it's such a major accomplishment in the preservation of a real musical masterpiece.
