BTW.

If I remember correctly, Harrington and David Raksin were friends. Raksin wrote the scores for Harrington feature debut Night Tide and What´s the Matter with Helen? The latter is (IMO of course) one of the best Raksin has ever written. There was also a LP of this, which seems to be ultra rare.

Speaking of Harrington and rare scores, IIRC there was never a score album released of Robert Prince's atmospheric work on Curtis's excellently eerie TV flick, THE DEAD DON'T DIE. Prince did a lot of great series and movie work back in the Seventies.

The Dead Don´t Die! Another flick on my want list.

Another fine (and eerie) score from Prince is Gargoyles. Classic eerie 70s horror score complete with harpsichord and "pagan" flute.

That´s the problem.

Same goes for most of the TV-composers of the 60s and 70s. I love the work of Gil Mellé and Billy Goldenberg. But beside The Andromeda Strain or Duel, Columbo and Night Walker, there isn´t much mass appeal.

Same goes for Les Baxter. Sure thanks to his arrangements and exotica albums he has a legendary status. But even his Exotica and Space-Age-Pop albums are largely unreleased, because there is only small niche for this kind of music.

I think the GHOST STORY CD from Varese is still available, isn't it ? Or at least used to be recently. A good score from Sarde (no surprise in that!).

THE CARDINAL is one of my favorite scores. Truly magnificent work, unfortunately the German CD which I have (Tsunami) has only half of the original LP. I know there's an RCA CD which has the same as the LP, but I still tend to think there must be many more music in the movie which is very very long - perhaps enough to fill a whole CD ?

The RCA release is still available from RCA Spain- try Footlight Records- That's where I got my Summer and Smoke and Fielding's Advise and Consent- which I might add is excellent, far better than I remembered when I had the lp.

If I would hold a film scores label like Intrada, I would release so many things I love :

So many Silvestri obscure & non obscure stuff (since he's one the most unreleased composers) :

Back to the Future (Alan Silvestri)
American Anthem
Mac & me
My Stepmother is an Alien
Super Mario Bros
Blown Away
Mission Impossible
The Magic Box
Stuart Little
Stuart Little 2
Lilo & Stitch
The Polar Express
...

So many Bruce Broughton still unreleased :

Stay Tuned
First Olympics
The Monster Squad
Moonwalker
Timekeeper
The Rescue

And other fabulous unreleased scores that come to my mind :

Short Circuit (David Shire)
The Rare Breed (John Williams)
Lilo & Stitch 2 (Joel McNeely)
Benji The Hunted (Betty & Euel Box)
Ducktales the movie (David Newman)
Superman IV (Alexander Courage & John Williams)
The Goonies (Dave Grusin)
War Games (Arthur B. Rubinstein)
Honey I Shrunk the Kids (James Horner)
Gremlins (Jerry Goldsmith)
Fire & Ice (Richard Kraft)
Sky High (Michael Giacchino)
Mighty Ducks series (David Newman and JAC Redford)

Only four ?? Oh Damn it !! And obscure ??? Gees...

Let's say :
American Anthem
Stay Tuned
Short Circuit
The Rare Breed
