Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines (2CD)

I have the Fox LP with the narration by James Robertson Justice but when I first heard the 2CD set it blew me away it sounded so good.

Howard Shore: The Lord Of The Rings (complete recordings)... so that's about 12 hours of music. That's at least something.... :-)

I also never ever tire of Jerry Goldsmith's CHINATOWN, one of my favorite film scores (and favorite movies). Yet that score is very short... not even half an hour (even if it were complete).

Hans Zimmer's THE THIN RED LINE is also one I'd consider, because it does have that desert island feeling.

Or I might take Philip Glass' KOYAANISQATSI for it's meditative qualities.

That would be E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (John Williams) for me as well. It's been 3 decades we have been listening to this glorious, perfect symphony, and it's still as vibrant as when it mesmerized audiences back in 82. For me as a 80's kid, it is full of fond memories, incredible emotions associated with my early years. More than any other music in the world, it is magic.

What if there are no coconuts to make a CD player with? (a modern "Gilligan's Island" Professor invention)

And what will it be powered with? Unless there's a coconut or lemon infestation, nothing to make power with. And sun-powered cells can be damanged by weather and over time the sea weather will take it's toll.

Hey, now that I'm thinking about it: you didn't specify a seperate islandfor each person choosing one CD, so that means all these people with CD's willl be on the island and there will be plenty of choose from.

But one of you will have to be Gilligan, and another the Skipper. And bad news: somebody's gotta Ginger.....

If I had to choose a soundtrack that I would save from burning flames, and one that I never get tired of listening to, it would have to be the one that started my love of film score's in the first place when I was a kid; Elmer Bernstein's The Black Cauldron. :)

On a deserted island I would pick something that would fit the invironment.

Peter Wolf's unreleased 1993 score to WEEKEND AT BERNIES 2.

It's got a couple of dynamite unreleased songs too...

Love those scores with the carribean feel.

Hmmm tough one, but probably Bernard Herrmanns Psycho or Harry Manfredinis Friday the 13th box as it would fastened me going completely insane there

a score I would have a good time with...E.T....that is pure emotion on that one
