I'm very partial to Lock Up. I think the love theme is some of the best material he's ever written. |

I had a great time listening to this soundtrack album. I remember way back when I saw the film thinking that the score was very exciting. This spoof score is more engaging than any number of serious action/adventure movies coming out of late. Frankly, when I listen to it, it's pretty much listening to a ballsy action score. Maybe there are a few over-the-top moments in it, but with the exception of the occasional "wink," it's played so straight as to shame the straight scores. |

I finally opened up my CD, read Daniel Schweiger's liners, and listened to this score... It's so beautiful; it's everything that I ever hoped it would be, and so much more. Stunning packaging and presentation, as always. I got ecstatic seeing that Morgan Creek logo plastered on both sides of the back cover... and the art direction here is amazing, IMO. I'm tempted to buy another copy or two... it's all so perfect. However, I have to admit, it would have been very interesting to hear the rejected score by David Bergeaud. That's my only gripe in what is an otherwise fantastic release. A holy grail... at last. Here's hoping to more Morgan Creek score releases down the road - ESPECIALLY for my other grail, which is Broughton's STAY TUNED. Thank you. |
