I don´t mind if Lukas has done this with CDs...more people gets to enjoy it ...be happy...
Only collectors that buys because it is limited gets offended and to (almost) phrase Conan in these times "To hell with them"

I would love to have everyone get the music. Having enough copies for
each person that wants one would be great. Again, why limit them?
Unless the studio has stated that only 3000 copies can be made, so be it.
But, if the studio says no more than 3000 copies and a label releases just
1000 (which is printed on the back of the inlay), whose fault is it that the
speculators buy them all up?

I am not personally contrary to overpress even though I can't understand the marketing logic behind (if any).
I find myself more comfortable with 1000-2000 copies editions because I have to think seriously if I want to buy or not to buy a release. The only, and I repeat ONLY, problem with 1-2000 limited editions is that you have to wait aeons before a new press sees the light. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems to happen only when AFM is involved.
As a counterexample let's think about recent European soundtracks.

Example 1: A new TRIO INFERNALE CD released by GDM is in pre-order from SAE. But it was released by Dagored only three years ago.
Example 2: A new COME IMPARAI AD AMARE LE DONNE is avalaible from SAE and Intrada. But it was released by Dagored only 3 years ago (again!).

Why not to think about repressing limited editions every 3-4 years, when you know they might be big hits? If only this happened with Young Sherlock Holmes, Predator or Towering Inferno...

The first ISC titles hadn´t any indications concerning the quantity of pressings. It has been written "This is a limited edition" nothing more. Why not returning to this kind of policy?. As Doug said wisely: there´s not only a contract with the AFM but also with the customers and this contract has been broken by one party. As it is in all business: pacta sunt servanda. Kendall didn´t do that.
