There's got to be a way to please as many people as possible.

I think, in an ideal world, it would be a good idea to limit the number of copies of these Limited Editions to ONE that a person could buy during the first week of its' release. That way, if Inchon did sell out in a week, at least 1500 people would be happy campers. Then, after that week, anything goes.

That way, a lot more people would be given the chance to buy the CD; heck, even the speculators would have a good chance to profit, once the first week is over.

I can't say I'm happy that Inchon won't get a second pressing; I'd love to have the thing, but my world isn't going to end, and I'll be damned if I'll pay an extortionate price for the CDs on eBay (much as I'm tempted).

I think Doug has shown good leadership in deciding not to repress INCHON. "INCHON - The Reprint: Intrada Special, Special Collection Vol. 35.5" had the potential to be a hornet's nest with long term implications for Intrada in terms of possible ill feelings and drawing off energies that Doug's small operation could better put into new releases.

I think I read somewhere, or it was hinted so, by Doug, that INCHON, similar to TOMBSTONE, is one of those titles where Intrada has been able to secure long-term licensing. If that is the case, I am sure we will see INCHON again, in a reinvented guise, or in a new format released by one of Doug's daughters (that's a joke, Doug!). I suppose, given the rate of technological change, it could happen in your lifetime.

Well, I missed out on Inchon. Yep. I went to bed, Inchon wasn't there, I checked the next day, and found Inchon was gone. I would like to have a copy, so I am definitely a candidate for a re-pressing, and should there ever be one put me down for a copy. Like the majority of fans out there, I am interested in the music and not in selling my copies for big bucks at eBay or reveling in the fact that I own a rare copy of something. Well, sometimes we all revel in owning this or that, I guess... but anyway...

Having read many though not all of the entries in this thread, I have to say that I really, really appreciate that Douglass Fake even considered running an extra pressing of Inchon (even though he may be already regretting ever having mentioned it). What a gesture!

Yet I'm afraid I also have to say that offering something as a "limited edition of 1500" and then make it a "limited edition of 2500" is probably simply a bad idea. Sure, I would snatch up one of those extra copies right away, I'd be the happy owner of a copy of Inchon, but this isn't just about whether some guy somewhere gets a second shot at owning a copy of Inchon.

If re-pressing Inchon would just annoy or hurt those who hoard copies in order to speculate and sell them for a profit on eBay, I wouldn't give a damn, bring 'em on.

Yet even eBay scalpers have the right to trust that when Intrada says "this CD release is limited to 1500 copies", that it is indeed limited to 1500 copies. Not to mention the average collector or fan.

So, if re-pressing Inchon would actually hurt Intrada, its credibility or reputation, which might well be the case given that it says on the package "limited to 1500 copies", then I'd rather forgo the option of owning a copy now. (That SUCKS! AARGH! But it's my opinion anyway.)
