Cool reading the wonderful notes by Jeff Bond and discovering that they were originally interested in Harrison Ford for the role of Finnegan. Not that I would have wanted anyone but Treat Williams for the part. I think that he and Kevin J O'Connor played off each other perfectly. But it would have been great to see Ford doing these sorts of roles rather than dreck like Hollywood Homicide etc. It was also interesting reading about Goldsmith's original main title, which ultimately wasn't used and never made an appearance until the end credits. As Mr Bond suggests, as though he was scoring another film. It is fun to think of it that way because imo the cue really does sound more like ' ...and now the perils of the jungle' if you will, rather than anything nautical. Anyway it really does work. Goldsmith you were a Genius!
This is shaping up as my favourite album of the year. Love the film. Love the score. Thanks again Intrada.
