Intrada Soundtrack Forum

Arrived today and spinning first CD now, the sound quality is absolutely stunning. Couldn't have wished for any other horror score to listen to leading up to Halloween and well after I'm sure!

My copy of Salem's Lot arrived here in the UK today. Its one of my top scariest films of all time and the music plays a huge part of that, so when this was announced I just had to pick it up.

I have to admit, having not listened to the score away from the film before, and seeing that it was primarily comprised of lots of short cues, I was concerned about the listening experience potentially being a bit stop-start.

Well, my concerns were totally unfounded. I've just listened to the first half and I'm amazed by how cohesive the score is. The blend of seething, moody atmosphere and the sharp, stabbing thematic identities work perfectly together to create an overarching sense of classic horror and a wickedly enjoyable listen. I just couldn't help but grin, recalling all of those infamously spine-tingling scenes in the film. What a way to get into the spirit of the season, I can't wait to stick on the second half!

Once again you guys at Intrada have driven the stake home and delivered another sumptuous presentation for us ravening score fans to sink our ridiculously impractical fangs into!
