INTRADA Announces Alan Silvestri's PREDATOR

Very cool!
Thanks for the revisitation, and MAFfing, of Silvestri's iconic action masterpiece.

I would like to ask,
Who's idea was it to change the black border to that shade of red?
That particular shade is most closely associated with Varèse Sarabande.
Just curious…

I have the earlier release, with which I continue to be very happy.

I like this score, but don't feel a need to repurchase it. The fine work on the earlier edition is good enough for me.

Amazing film score.

Honestly, the more I discover Silvestri's work the more I realise he's a genuis. Hans Zimmer is way down my list these days lol.

I'm glad I had to wait on this. I'm in the middle of moving into a new home in the country at the moment and didn't want to confuse things with the post office. I will buy Predator when the new discs come in stock.

This edition of PREDATOR arrived today (wow... record time, Intrada just sent these out very late in the week last week).

I would like to thank Doug for the first rate/final quality check. The extra time was well spent. The results... stunning. Though I do have the previous edition of this marvelous action score, this was a no brainer to pick up. Well worth it. It has been playing non-stop all day today.

Thanks Intrada... Once again, you prove you are at the top of your game...

Same here. The sound blew me away. Makes me dream of a reissue of Rambo : First Blood part 2 in complete form by Intrada !

I have all three versions plus the complete 1 and 2 on one set which i think is not a official release.
However the new version is still not complete because i seem to remember a 30 sec piece of music on the film where they are sliding down the rope from helicoptor into the jungle. It does`nt make a great deal of difference but i would have thought they would have added this piece and Long Tall Sally as its been re made a few times now. But i was still pleased as i got i for a reasonable price compaired to the 2 previous ones which cost me plus £50 each of ebay.

Sold off the previous Predator and the new one arrived today, great work guys. I second that Rambo II comment, make the intrada spines come full circle

Finally got to order it today with Eidelman's Star Trek VI score (also ordered my first BUYSOUNDTRAX and Varese releases at the same time). I just didn't have to the money until recently. I missed the 1941 score and even though Predator and ST:VI don't have order caps on them I decided to get them anyways.

I always liked the relentless score that Silvestri put together. It's brutal, moody and those percussive drums that play throughout the Predator's solo scenes are ace. The score also contains one of my favourite Silvestri pieces ever in "The Aftermath/The Pick-Up And End Credits". It's the part where the helicopter starts to come into Schwarzenegger's view and the lone horn(?) starts playing and we then cut to Anna and the Colonel looking at Arnold as he stares vacantly. It's at that moment with Silvestri's horns playing that we realise the enormity that Schwarzenegger's character has gone through to simply survive the film. And then Silvestri hits us with the main score as the helicopter rises over the jungle. Just brilliant.

Oh, sugar. I just realised that the Varese CD I ordered is another Silvestri! :lol:
