I don't see why you didn't just release a seven-disc set with every possible assembly of each cue, including aborted takes, sound effects created by technicians in post, and a single strand of Poledouris's hair so that we can clone him to get insights into the score. That way, we can all assemble the CD the way we want, and have our own resurrected composer living with us. Everybody's happy. You didn't even recreate the redundant doubled track from the first CD, so now I have to keep that one around! I want duplicates of all tracks! After all, we are the ones buying this stuff, we should get our say!

Alternately, you can know that most of us appreciate that CD producers make choices, that's their job, and while the internet naturally magnifies the grievances of a few loud people and makes it feel like an angry mob is assembling on Antioch Street with torches, these complainers are not actually representative of most buyers.

Nah, I demand the seven disc set. And please reproduce all previous artwork, including the large LP art, so I can sell all my old versions on eBay to people who don't know about this new one, without losing anything I already have.

Well, as somebody who had always found the cut to the title 'RoboCop' and the accompanying edit of "Drive Montage" at the end of the movie to have been rather jarring, I was quite happy that was not replicated here.

And as somebody who was always somewhat annoyed that my previous RoboCop CD just seemed to trail off, I am quite pleased that this disc concludes with an approximation of Poledouris' intended finale. The score now can be listened to with some closure, and that's almost as important an addition to the listening experience as the restoration of the remainder of the score!

Doug, you're doing an excellent job on two fronts: striking a balance between a great album and a complete presentation, which Robocop certainly is; and communicating with your customers thoughtfully and intelligently. On the latter point, I particularly appreciate that you stood up and explained your decision on the End Credit assembly, when one could argue that you shouldn't have needed to. Certainly, other labels/producers make much more questionable decisions than these and either don't communicate with their customers at all or insult them. I don't think I need to name names here!

In any case, don't forget the silent majority of us who are too busy enjoying the Robocop album to post a message thanking you for it. Keep up the good work!
