I just finished listening through this short but sweet album. It's a terrifyingly beautiful and scary score. It's also uncommon for me to enjoy every cue on an album, but this is one of those exceptions, where I love every single track on this disc (even the two source cues). This film has among the best main titles that I've heard thus far, and I take a bit of a guilty pleasure into the Attack sequences, as abrasive as they are. The bonus tracks provided by Charles Bernstein at the end of the CD are really cool, too. When it comes to certain film score tracks that I really, REALLY enjoy, I find myself trying to strain to hear all the sorts of instruments used that comprise these pieces, but with the "Attack Music Deconstructed" segment, I won't have to do that with those cues, at least.
I wish Mr. Bernstein were writing for more higher-profile films these days, nonetheless, as he is truly starting to become one of my favorite composers. I await the day when Intrada releases his scores for Gator and White Lightning, seeing as his website mentions that they're being worked on. Not to mention others such as Love at First Bite, That Man Bolt, Look What Happened to Rosemary's Baby, etc.
If you haven't picked up this soundtrack yet, I recommend it.
