For shits and giggles, as long as we're nearing the end of the award season. (And apologies in advance if this disinters some ancient thread.) He or she cannot ever have been nominated in any of the Motion Picture Academy's music categories. (I might have otherwise included David Shire.)

The list is long (sadly!) and spans decades, but here's three to start, with a signature track that nails me every time:

Carter Burwell -- "End Titles" from Miller's Crossing
Pino Donaggio -- "The Museum" from Dressed to Kill
Michael Nyman -- "The Departure" from Gattaca

Christopher Young.

Sarde was fortunately awarded the one nomination for Tess, but his Ghost Story and Lord of the Flies, among others, I find equally as deserving. My failure to mention Poledouris is almost beyond redemption -- mea maxima culpa! I'll also pull Arnold, Wiseman, the two Dannas (The Kid Stays in the Picture -- brilliant!), Scott and Jones from the candidates subsequently pooled. "You Have the Power" from Dark City is just sublime -- a real stunner, a feat.
