How do you organise your collection?

Years ago when I had maybe a hundred soundtrack albums, I kept them by composer and in chronological order. But as my collection grew, I became equally impressed not just by the artist, but with the label. I had a ton of UA albums and Disneyland records and always getting the latest Varese Sarabande. I discovered Italian labels like CAM, Phoenix and others from Japan so I started to lump them together side by side. Eventually I wanted to see what a run of UA- and other labels looked like across the shelf, and as I put them in chronological order I found out better what I had, and what I needed to get a complete run. So I guess that's when I realized I wasn't just into soundtracks, worse, I was a record collector.

I have my 800+ CD's stored the same way, by label, in a ten drawer cabinet made up in Canada (shipping was insane), and when I slide open a drawer, there's all my Intrada's, FSM's etc., all neatly aligned and looking back up at me.
