Intrada Soundtrack Forum

Another suggestion: "Emperor of the North" by DeVol.

The Intrada album was a fast sellout. Back then there were no elements available for the wonderful orchestral renditions of the song theme. Perhaps something could be found in the meantime? Or bonus tracks are possible from music stems for a reissue of the CD?)
(I also noticed that the main title of the bonus score "Caprice" had missing percussion, possibly overdubs. Maybe the recordings could be found, too?)

I know folks grumble all the time about reissues, but some of us don't begrudge them. Reissues allow us a break in our spending; more importantly, I'm glad for any opportunity for new, younger film music fans to become acquainted with scores and soundtracks that they might not have been aware of earlier or simply missed out on. I mean, I think a single disc of Jerry Fielding's "Chato's Land" and "Lawman" should always be kept in print, given the outstanding writing and vivid sonics of these two western soundtracks, not to mention their general accessibility. (And I have them in both their Bay Cities and Intrada issues.) Fielding was at the peak of his powers then. I was very glad to see a reissue of Les Baxter's "Master of the World" and "Goliath and the Barbarians" reissued by Intrada (which I also have). Other suggestions for Intrada reissues: Goldsmith's "Baby," which sold out in a few days, and Jarre's "Night of the Generals," one of the composer's best.
