From the Academy of Motion Picture Arts Special Collection under Jerry Goldsmith:
In addition, full scores orchestrated by Goldsmith can be found for "Black Patch" (1957), "City of Fear" (1959), "Face of a Fugitive" (1959), and "Studs Lonigan" (1960).

Does this mean that if a label wanted to re-record the scores to BLACK PATCH and FACE OF A FUGITIVE, could they make use of these "full scores orchestrated by Goldsmith"?

If the elements to these two films are lost, what's the chance of say TADLOW doing a re-recording at least from these? can anyone answer this?

Unless some rich uncle decides to pay for it, nothing like this seems to be very likely now.

These are exactly the kinds of things Tadlow should do. It is unlikely we will see the original soundtracks for these released so they would or should be popular with Goldsmith fans. I would rather they spend money on these than an unnecessary re-record of something like the Blue Max.

If it's a rerecording, the companies shouldn't matter as the rights are unrelated. While there's getting access to the sheet music which could be an issue, unlike with OSTs a new recording is owned by whoever pays for it and can do with it what they want.

Thank you for your excellent point, TerraEpon. I was thinking like a fan, while you brought informed, welcome reasoning. So this might become a realistic prospect!

I meant "realistic" simply as opposed to "impossible." If either of these scores actually gets rerecorded and released, it would be surprising -- but a welcome surprise.
