Off the top of my head I'd have to say one of the saddest is Herrmann's Road and Finale from F451. the theme from Schindler's List always makes me cry, as does Hymn for the Fallen from SPR. The Roger Williams-performed theme from Somewhere in Time tears me to pieces, and I can NOT listen to Adventure on Earth.... EVER AGAIN(Talking about the last 6 or so minutes of that piece).
I know there's TONS of Goldsmith, and two of them just popped in my head, both of which I can not listen to, because they will put me into a depression(seriously).... "When You've Gone Away" from Babe, and "The Old City" from David Lev..... I'd have to go with the song from Babe as the saddest Goldsmith... at least until I can think of some more.

There's a track on the recording of Miklos Rozsa's Providence entitled Leaves that I would consider haunting. The entire recording actually. Marion And Sam from Bernard Herrmann's Psycho has such a haunting and strange sense of doom. Janet Leigh down to her bra and bloomers dressing after unmarried sex with John Gavin in 1960 and having that weird conversation before parting and seeing each other for the last time.

this was the one that came to my mind, maybe not the best but the first that i come to think about that is both sad and haunting (love the narration over the music too)
