I seem to remember seeing this oop with a different artwork. Has it been re issued and is it now unlimited? I thought the first release was limited to 4000 this one doesn't appear to have a volume limit.

I think it was part of their new policy of unlimited releases, but they still make runs in certain amounts, and plowed threw the first and had to do another.

Your facts seem to get mixed up sometimes. The Blue Box was always limited, but when released Lukas said they might do a 2nd pressing if it sold better than expected...and then it did. I'd be surprised if there was a 3rd pressing, though. The 1st pressing just went so fast (ie. like Ben-Hur, which also got a 2nd pressing, though this time without warning).

The first pressing of The Blue Box was limited to 3,000 copies and sold out quickly.

Then then was as second pressing with a fixed booklet that was also limited to 3,000 copies. That currently on a low quantity alert and when those are sold out, it'll be out of print.

At that point another label could choose to buy a license and release just the first score in a new 2CD set, theoretically.

I kept asking myself if I really wanted that box at that price since I'm not too big of a fan of the Superman series (the films themselves), but eventually gave in and haven't regretted it after becoming more familiar with the works and hearing the amazing sound quality.

The Bernstein box is truly amazing as well, and I'm sure much of its contents will be a big treasured rarity for many years after it has sold out.
