In anticipation of a fothrncoming legit release, I have a few comments on this score. In my estimation it is the perfect film score. I discovered this superb score when I was nine years old after seeing the George Stevens production. While Stevens is not one of my favorite directors, Alfred Newman is one of my favorite composers. I used to borrow the LP from a Detroit Public library, wanting to keep the LP, I always with much apprenhension returned it to the library, but the score was etched in my brain. Listening to "THE DEARNESS OF YOU PETER", I almost have a devine spirtual experiance. After all these years, it is still one of my favorite film scores, and after much consernation, I think "TDOAF is the most beautiful film sore ever written, bar none.
