Flight of the Navigator

First, I want to thank Intrada for their hard work in 2011. Lots of great memories from my childhood and a lot of new scores I did not hear in it´s entirety before. Also, I cannot give you guys high enough props for your discovery of the original Conan scores. Words simply cannot express how happy I am since you posted the news about this.

Now, what I wanted to really talk about is Alan Silvestri´s "Flight of the Navigator". Until today, this title has a very special place in my heart, since the mixture of pop, atmospheric and mysterious melodies made it stand out when I watched it as a kid. Creepy moments, heart-warming moments, sad moments, happy moments, it is all there. This is a movie that comes alive especially because if it´s great score.

I (and probably many other fellow Intrada listeners) would be a very happy and thankful customer if you guys could make the complete score happen.

I had found the score album in a store in the late 90's, something like 12 years ago, and had to resell it because I needed some cash. I happened to find it again this year for 15 bucks, and I'm glad I did, because I like the movie and it's a charming Silvestri 80's synth score ! I hadn't realized there was much missing music, maybe I should replay my DVD one of these days...

I have the BSX release from a few years back did'nt know it was missing much.

I don't believe there's all that much missing though admittedly it's been many many years since I've seen the movie.

It IS Buena Vista, and as far as I can tell fully on synclavier, so a release by Intrada I would think could easily be in the cards were they to want it.

I have the 28-minute CD. It's a fun score; I especially like "Robot Romp," which has a recurring set of notes that Silvestri later used for part of his main theme for Young Guns II.

Sound quality could probably be greatly improved for some cues, so I would welcome a better sounding release.

Some parts of the main theme have Echco's of his Cat's Eye score too.

Flight Of The Navigator soundtrack is a Holy Grail for alot of people. Its an amazing soundtrack (which is very synthy). Uses alot of synclavier/fairlight (which is the same synth used on Labyrinth).

Has anyone bought BSX Supertracks version? They go for £120 second hand...and all you get is 25 mins of music

. Whats the sound quality like? Really hoping Intrada could work their magic on 2012 release. Would be amazing...
