Was there ever a score that a composer was more born to compose than FAR FROM HEAVEN? I don't believe in fate or whatever, but the fact that this amazing music was Elmer's sign-off to the music world (give or take), really makes me happy. Not to take anything way, but it has the intensity of Alex North's VIRGINIA plus the dulcet lyricism we love from Elmer.
Incidentally I just watched a little-seen film called THE GOOD SON and the titles sounded so much like TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD that I was almost embarrassed when the main cred's rolled and in fact it was also Elmer.
Shall I expose my ignorance and query whether THE GOOD SON had a proper release, and whether it had enough of Elmer's music to make us all happy?
