I'm goofy, I liked the packaging. The 2 cd set rocks. Some of the criticism over on FSM is that some of choir overlays are missing on a couple of cues. I will take this release until the reuse fees go down and some label produces the complete score. Until then, this is close enough.

I have not read the entire thread / threads over on FSM so I don't know if anyone else has thought of this yet or not, but what if they decide to go with this type of "special" packaging for #1000? The whole world may just fall off it's axis. I have yet to order this CD so I can not speak about the packaging, but it does sound odd. In the end I just hope everybody is happy with the music itself.

I seem to be the only person who actually likes the packaging. Sure the notes are brief and the list of musicians is all wrong, but I do think it looks nice. I have a section in my collection for weird-shaped boxes, so it's not a problem for me that it doesn't have the same dimensions as a regular CD.

As for the music, my one gripe is that I am disappointed that the choir wasn't included on "Spock Goes Spelunking" because I was looking forward to it; the version with the choir is eerie and tense, without the choir, it's just tense. Other than that, I have to admit that I prefer some of the "dry" tracks over those with the choir, and so I have nothing else to say other than the surging "Trekking Down the Narada" makes me a speed demon in my car.

I find myself absolutely loving this release, and the packaging is good.

I also acknowledge the issues, but they are minor issues at best.

I knew copies were low at Varese, but didn't think they would go that quickly. No doubt the remaining copies went to speculators, so they can sell them on EBay. Anyway, I did manage to get a copy, thanks to Intrada. Always happy to give them the business.

I know one copy that won't go on eBay, and that's mine! I'd been eyeing this release since the day they announced it and finally when I saw that they had less than 300 left made the decision and bought it. Anxiously awaiting its arrival tomorrow and can't wait to listen to it! I'll never hesitate again, I swear!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Intrada. My order of Star Trek:Deluxe Edition arrived yesterday.
