Okay, so the fifties have gotten some attention afterall, and a few sixties scores as well. But those post-1970 titles still seem to dominate... not a surprise, just an observation.

My Desert Island year pick would be 1978 where both Goldsmith and Williams wrote stellar scores. It seems a favorite year for a few people.

Scores:

Superman - Williams
Capricorn One - Goldsmith
Jaws 2 - Williams
Swarm - Goldsmith
Foul Play - Fox

My choice is 1982

E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial
Star Trek II
Poltergeist
Conan the Barbarian
First Blood

But there are also Monsignor, Blade Runner, Secret of NIMH, The Challenge, The Dark Crystal... 'twas a good year for film music!

Can't beleive I haven't thought of this before:

For the regular five CDs to take to a desert island, I would take five copies of "300".


One to signal planes with.
A second to dig with.
A third to help reflect the sun and maybe start a fire.
Fourth one for cutting.
And the fifth would be used to signal boats and planes with the reflection.


The borken pieces after cutting and digging, would be used, with sap from a tree, to glue to a log and try and spell out "HELP"*.





* = HELP, I GOT THE SCORE TO THE "300".
