Wow! You guys have thrown out some great recommendations here. Some that I'd forgotten about, so it was nice to be reminded to revisit them again. Still, as much as I like Horner, Goldsmith, Broughton and classics by the likes of Steiner or Waxman and such, my heart still comes back around to Williams' DESERT CHASE. Just can't seem to get tired of that one, nor do I feel that it's losing any of it's luster with repeated playing - it just appears to get better! Love it when that happens.
Another, more modern cue, that seems to have a similar effect on me, is Don Davis's MONA LISA OVERDRIVE, from THE MATRIX: RELOADED. With it's pounding and hypnotic techno rhythms, coupled with strong orchestral flourishes, Davis (and Juno Reactor) offers us up just one heck of a ride that is almost dizzying in it's execution. It's a long track, over 10 minutes in it's entirety, but I never fail to hit "replay" on my player when it's done.
With that, thanks for sharing... I'm going back in for more. Happy trails everyone!
Matt
