I just grabbed Honey, I Blew Up the Kid and The Rescuers Down Under off of Ebay, and I've been listening to them. Just finished HIBUTK, and I'm listening to TRDU right now.
I knew I liked these scores, as they have stuck with me from viewing them many times as a child, but man, these are really some fantastic scores from Broughton!
Honey... is rambunctious, energetic, quirky, exhilirating...an absolute blast. The Rescuers Down Under is also soaring, adventurous and exciting. They both have wonderful themes, and delightfully creative writing.
And Honey... particularly has some enthusiastic liner notes from the Intrada gang. Now, I'm sure there are many things in the running ahead of these, and I don't need to worry about replacing my freshly-bought OSTs, but is there any possibility of, once legal issues are sorted out, complete releases of these somewhere in the future? I think they definitely deserve them, and it seems like a no-brainer with the Broughton/Intrada relationship. No pressure, and I don't want to feel like I just threw money into the streets by ordering these, but I'd definitely be up for these eventually.
Anyone else love, like, dislike, or hate these scores (and if you belong to one of the latter two camps, wanna fight?

)?
