INTRADA Announces:
10 TO MIDNIGHT
Composed and Conducted by ROBERT O. RAGLAND
INTRADA Signature Edition ISE 1031
In the 1983 MGM film 10 to Midnight, Charles Bronson plays cynical police detective Leo Kessler, assigned to investigate the sensational murder of a young couple. All clues lead to a good-looking, but somewhat creepy office worker named Warren Stacey (Gene Davis), for Stacey was a colleague (and spurned suitor) of the female victim. Frustrated by the legal system, Kessler plants damning evidence and has Stacey arrested for murder. His plan backfires when the frame up is discovered and Stacey is released. Fired from the police force, Kessler turns the tables on the psycho, stalking him while Stacey seeks his own revenge by going after Kessler's daughter.
Robert O. Ragland's hard-driving music for 10 to Midnight is mainly scored for electronic keyboards, piano and strings, reflecting the sound of the ’80s era from which it originates. The essence of the score is introduced in the “Main title,” a quick-paced, pulsating and catchy synthesized hard rock theme punctuated with electric guitar licks. This energetic motif is Stacey’s theme and plays when he is stalking his prey or being pursued by Kessler. Also a standout is “Van Heaven,” a mellow love theme with the emphasis on electronic piano and drum machine.
Available on LP at the time of the film's release, this Intrada album is the premiere release of that LP presentation on CD, remastered from the original elements at MGM. This release is limited to 1000 copies.
