Exciting week ahead for us. Though we have premiered numerous newly-recorded albums of great film scores dating back to the 1980’s when Jerry Goldsmith conducted his own Islands In The Stream and Rio Conchos music for our then-new label, instead of simply producing the releases ourselves, last year we organized and launched our very first Kickstarter project to bring film music aficionados into the fold from the get-go. We then researched, reconstructed and completely recorded anew the suspenseful and dynamic score Dimitri Tiomkin composed for Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 thriller, Dial M For Murder. We’re especially proud of the fact that we accomplished all of the heavy-lifting, headed over to the world-class recording venue in Glasgow and enthusiastically captured the entire score with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra literally just four months ago and yet have the album mixed, edited, produced and packaged for supporters and fans already! We even managed to pack in a new recording of the splendid suite Christopher Palmer prepared for Tiomkin’s Strangers On A Train, another legendary Hitchcock thriller. And just prior to locking down the Hitchcock music, we prepared and recorded two CDs featuring early ballet music Tiomkin composed for Albertina Rasch and her dance troupe. These are stunning orchestral miniatures that showcase Tiomkin’s florid blossoming style during the late 1920’s and early 1930’s. Both the film scores and the ballet music were recorded under the supervision of Olivia Tiomkin.

The fruits of our admittedly intense and concentrated labors are scheduled for release this week! We sincerely thank all those who supported our bringing out the complete Dial M For Murder score and dearly hope everyone who is new to these Tiomkin projects will purchase them as well. This is our debut with this particular newly-formed team that includes William Stromberg on the podium, Anna Stromberg and Patrick Russ nailing down all those millions of notes to play and Simon Rhodes getting it all down on tape. With Paul Talkington working as our orchestra contractor, Roger Feigelson and myself handling the production duties and the superb playing by the RSNO bringing it all alive, we hope we have assembled the most efficient and enthusiastic team possible! We hope you will support us bringing out more newly-recorded film score releases!
