A fantastic way to follow up the Memorial Day holiday will be finally owning two of the most famous - and yet never before released! - actual soundtracks of all time. You'll know the movies, you'll know the music and the composer for both titles is legendary. And... you'll most likely already have the short "score" albums. They're famous, too! Now enjoy at last this famous music in its original guise! One of them even helps us all celebrate Universal's 100th Anniversary. Artwork, track lists and sound samples will be up this coming Monday eve. Orders begin shipping Tuesday, May 29.
Enjoy another incredible release as well... this one just arriving from from Tribute Film Classics: ADVENTURES OF DON JUAN, coupled with ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, both by Max Steiner, both courtesy William Stromberg and the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, both in one two-CD package. So on to the complete Don Juan: Wow! What a dazzling work! Exciting, opulent, soaring, tuneful... you name it, Steiner does it. Note the musical architecture. Sequences end in keys complimentary to incoming cues throughout. Each piece part of a larger whole. What a joy it is to listen to music like this. Vivid. Colorful. Every part of the orchestra getting a workout. If your idea of a colorful score is BATTLESHIP, pass this one by. But others should check this album out. The wonderful trio of Stromberg, Bonn & Morgan have literally outdone their own monumental standards!
