We'll have a new Special Collection release up for ordering this Monday evening (August 3.) Some people may have figured out what it is by the YouTube sound sample Roger posted yesterday. In any case, it's action and adventure all the way! Okay, there's some romance tossed in, too. Orders will begin shipping on Tuesday the 4th.

Thanks to you fans of movie music, both of our new releases for today have been selling well all morning. Over a thousand copies of each are gone already! I imagine MR. MAJESTYK will be sold out pretty soon but stranger things have happened. Still, for bean counters, there are less than two hundred copies out of 1200 remaining. THE BLACK STALLION set has also been keeping Jeff, George and Steve busy in the mail room. I understand there are about 400 sets left out of the 1500 units produced. That set is a must own to me, but then I get just about every film music album that comes out. However, not every one. I did pass on something just last week. So there. I still have some credibility.

Some random observations but there's a connection somewhere. I was playing Zimmer's cool CD for KING ARTHUR but I was also thinking how it reminded me of GLADIATOR, THE PEACEMAKER, THE LAST SAMURAI and some others. The Zimmer harmonic vernacular is constant throughout. But it's a good one to be sure.

Anyway, afterwards I decided to catch a movie. My teenage daughter was off to see INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS so I decided to catch the same. Sort of. Not Tarantino's new take, but the 1978 original. I had fun but I was thinking about Hollywood and remakes. They sure do that a lot. So now I went from Zimmer to remakes.

Then, when the Blu-ray was over, I figured I'd catch some late night political news before going to bed. As fast as I had found my station, an ad popped up. A trailer for a "new" movie: HALLOWEEN II. I just sat for a second, thinking I had made it up in my mind. But, nope. It was true. Now my mind shifted from remakes to... I don't even know what to call it. Now Hollywood is taking franchises that went on endlessly, remaking not only the originals, but now remaking the sequels!!

Thoughts about a lack of originality were on my mind as I finally went to sleep.
