What a blast. Roger and I went to both the Film Score Monthly bash this last Saturday and the composer signing at Dark Delicacies on Sunday. Two fun events!

Lukas Kendall put together a great show on Saturday with a movie about some of his FSM activities and lots of fun conversation with the audience. One of the highlights was putting faces in front of all those anonymous message board contributors. Another was visiting with people like Bruce Kimmel of Kritzerland and Craig Spaulding & Ed Dennis from Screen Archives. Everyone talked about favorite projects, mail order customer service and various other dealer/label-oriented stuff.

Sunday afternoon was all about the composers. Michael Giacchino, Bear McCreary, Christopher Young, Stu Phillips, John Murphy, Mark Isham, Arthur B. Rubinstein, Harry Manfredini, Ken Thorne, Ron Jones, Richard Band, Geoff Zanelli... all in one room! And when Roger and I weren't stargazing with everyone else, we had opportunities to visit with Michael and Matt, the two really cool guys behind La-La Land as well as producer Dan Goldwasser. Again, putting faces with familiar names!

We had lunch with William Stromberg and John Morgan, too. This gave us a chance to talk about re-recordings, the challenges of recouping the costs, projects we'd like to see happen and what we might be able to work together on. We're kicking some neat ideas around!

All in all, quite a weekend

Volume 99 is limited to 1000 copies, Volume 100 is limited to 3000. Which is probably how many times I've played this particular one! Orders for both CDs will begin shipping on Tuesday, June 9. Big news! We're moving!

Yep. Anyone who's visited our office here knows we're packed in like sardines. And hamsters don't like sardines. So we've just leased a whole new office complex. We're still nestled in the beautiful hills of Oakland, but we've got more room. Our new digs actually include our own lobby, formal conference room, executive office, accounting office, in-house warehousing and more. The hamsters love it! They've even got room to process orders now without bumping into each other. We make the move next week. Address info will be on our site next week, of course. And, because our hamsters are actually turbo-hamsters (a bigger, tougher breed), we'll still be posting our newest Special Collection limited CD for sale next Tuesday as well. It's one of the all-time most requested we've ever had around here... and now it's a reality. A stricter license limits us to just 2500 copies, so if it tickles your fancy, don't wait long to grab it.

Needless to say, even turbo-hamsters have limits. So please allow a little extra time next week for the processing of your orders simultaneously with our actual move. It's probably going to be a popular release so we'll have our work cut out for us. Yep, even yours truly will probably have to set aside his diet soda and actually do some work!

We've moved! And it all went pretty smoothly! Jeff's already set up in his new order-processing room, working on catching stuff up. And he's got room to work, too! There's plenty to do right now between unpacking and resuming orders at the same time. But as I've said before, we've got turbo-hamsters working back here. And now, with ample space, they'll be able to get stuff done without climbing on top of each other. Still, the workload will be intense for a couple of weeks, so there won't be a lot of respite for awhile.

THE JOURNEY OF NATTY GANN has been selling well. We've got just under 200 copies left. It came out at the same time as our move got underway, so if you ordered it and are waiting for your copy to arrive... please give it an extra couple of days. Adding to the fray: Our final batch of IN HARM'S WAY is also now in stock. So if you're waiting for one of those, shipments are resuming as I write this message.
