A FISHY STORY (1989) is a beautifully shot and scored, obscure Hong Kong drama/romance. Composer Richard Yuen conceived a lush, hypnotic score which echoes John Barry's BODY HEAT. Like contemporaries such as Arthur Wong ( A HERO NEVER DIES, RUNNING OUT OF TIME), Yuen's scoring is rich and transporting, on par with the best American composers. Is Intrada interested in showcasing such Asian composers? |
