While that soundtrack label pioneer John Lasher released this Emmy award-winning score at the time the TV Series was originally screened in the mid-'80's, that CD only had a 56 minute running time (and the LP issued in Europe had less, only 45 minutes). In line with previous Intrada presentations of the Rosenthal mini-series GEORGE WASHINGTON and MUSSOLINI:THE UNTOLD STORY, this music could easily fill a double disc set. Thanks to the prominent mix of the music in the series, I cannot escape the impression this is among the most magnificent achievements by the composer for the television medium.
