I recently purchased the Blu-ray version of the movie "Frequency." It features an isolated music only track and commentary by the composer Michael Kamen. It was interesting to hear his voice 13 years after his passing. After watching scenes of the movie with the music and no dialogue, it really brought home how Michael Kamen's score really enhanced the film. Now on the 20th anniversary of the film, the time has come for this score to finally be released on CD. Perhaps Intrada could work with all parties involved (New Line Cinema, estate of Michael Kamen) to make such a release possible. |

Yes, that Kamen score would be an absolute treasure if it was released with much better sound compared to the isolated music track from the dvd release. The highlight of the score and film is, imho, the almost 9-minute piece that leads to the Buxton Fire - a real tour-de-force with Kamen's emotional writing for the orchestra. |

Interestingly the opening Fire Truck Chase scene was not scored by Kamen but by J. Peter Robinson. So I wonder did Kamen originally score that scene but got replaced or was it time restraint that he was unavailable to score that scene too? |
